- Does The Knight Guard come with a warranty?
Your night mouthguard comes with a full one year (12 month) warranty which covers manufacturing faults. The warranty does not cover faults from chewing on the mouthguard, and you’ll need to take note of proper care for your mouthguard to ensure the warranty can be fulfilled.
You acknowledge that your night guard is being supplied to you based on your individual needs and that you have made your own individual decision in determining which of the products suits your dental issues. Unless otherwise provided in the terms and conditions, The Knight Guard will have no liability to you whatsoever in respect of your selection of any of the products.
- If I buy the upper and lower Custom Invisible Retainers do I have to buy 2 Customer Care Plans?
No, the purchase of one Customer Care Plan will entitle you to remake of both the upper and lower Invisible Retainers.
- How do I clean The Knight Guard?
Wash your mouthguard in cold water each morning after use. Use your toothbrush to gently scrub it, removing the saliva and any food debris. Denture cleaning tablets may also be used on a semi-regular basis.
A quick, occasional rinse in a non-alcoholic mouthwash will help improve the taste and smell of your mouthguard, and prevent gum infection. Do not use toothpaste or solvents which will abrade. Do not clean with hot water or heat as this will distort the shape of the mouthguard.
- How can I make sure I take the right self impression?
Be sure to stick to the simple instructions and watch the impression video a few times before and while doing your impression.
However, we have professional technicians on hand to review all mouthguard impressions before they are made. If you have adhered to the instructions, bad impressions can be avoided.
We provide an additional impression putty in all The Knight Guard impression kits as a backup, just in case, and don't worry if you make a mistake, we're happy to keep sending you putty until we get it just right.
If needed, we’re here to help. So, if you are worried that the impression you have taken isn’t right, just send us an email and we can help assess your impression before you send it back to us.
- How long will it take to get The Knight Guard?
All our deliveries are made via Australia Post. Once you place an order please allow 7 - 14 days for regular shipping, and for express shipping, allow 2 to 4 business days. Once we receive your impression at our lab, allow 5-9 working days for construction before posting back to you.
- What if my mouthguard doesn’t fit when I receive it?
Given that you have probably followed the instructions carefully, this will rarely happen. On the odd occasion, your custom mouthguard may arrive and be too loose or not fitted correctly. If this occurs, please contact customer service and we will arrange for you to receive a new one.
- Is The Knight Guard suitable for children?
No, this product is not suitable for people under the age of 16 years.
- Should I replace The Knight Guard regularly? How long will it last?
Adults should replace their night mouthguard every two years.
You know when the time to replace your mouthguard has come because your mouthguard will not fit as well as it initially did, become loose, or irritate your gums. If you’re unsure, we’re always happy to answer your questions.
- Does The Knight Guard work with braces or a fixed plate?
The Home Impression Kit is not suitable for use if you have fixed appliances or braces. Removable appliances must be taken out prior to taking your impression.
- Where can I buy The Knight Guard?

- Why should I avoid cheaper “boil and bite” mouthguards?
A “boil and bite” proforma is not recommended, as the Australian Dental Health Foundation and the Australian Dental Association strongly advise taking dental impressions of your teeth in order to get the right protective mouthguard for you. A “boil and bite” mouthguard is not as individually-designed as The Knight Guard, therefore will not be as comfortable, symptom minimising, and protective.
A far superior alternative to the “boil and bite” product, The Knight Guard will protect teeth from the damage caused by grinding, clenching, or gnashing. The long-lasting effects of bruxism can result in costly dentist bills for maintenance and repair and The Knight Guard is a low-cost investment in your dental health and wellbeing.
Additionally, the “boil and bite” style can be difficult to fit with a high risk of burning your mouth. They can be uncomfortable to wear, affecting breathing patterns, and sleep. The poorer quality can become hazardous during nighttime and may encourage more symptoms than you began with.
- Can I get a private health rebate on The Knight Guard?
Currently, your private health insurance will not be able to issue you with a rebate. In the near future, we will be partnering with chosen dentists, and this option is likely to become available to our valued customers.
All our night guards offer a cost-effective alternative to visiting a dentist for multiple appointments where you will receive exactly the same finished product. Even under the private health rebate, you may be required to pay a gap of in excess of what The Knight Guard costs.
- Who makes The Knight Guard mouthguards?
The Knight Guard is made by our parent company, Impression Healthcare Limited (IHL) which is an ASX-listed dental technology company behind such other brands as Gameday Mouthguard and Instant Teeth Whitening.
- All products are made by highly-qualified Dental Technicians in Melbourne, Australia.
- Is The Knight Guard a cure for bruxism/teeth grinding?
There are multiple factors that can contribute to bruxism so your medical professional will guide you on the best approach. The Knight Guard will protect your teeth and reduce the uncomfortable symptoms that night-time teeth grinding and jaw clenching will cause.
- What is The Knight Guard mouthguard made out of?
The materials used in our mouthguards are included on the register of the TGA and are durable, safe and comfortable to wear. We use high quality materials and have a rigid manufacturing process.
- Is a sports mouthguard and night guard the same thing?
No. They are very different products, and you will need both accordingly. Sports mouthguards are designed to be worn during activity to prevent sudden impact and shock to the teeth whereas The Knight Guard is designed specifically for night use to help with teeth grinding. You'll note by appearance, night guards are much thinner and low-profile than traditional custom sports mouthguards.
- How do I know which one is right for me?
Your dentist will give you an initial diagnosis and from there you can ascertain which best suits your needs. Or, you may have already been using one that you need replaced. Check out our product page to see which suits your needs and level of teeth grinding the best.
- Will the night guard change my bite?
No. A proper fitting custom-fit night mouthguard will not alter your bite or cause any pain beyond the initial discomfort of getting used to using it. The key is to make sure it fits well and that’s why taking an impression is so important.
- Can I get a guard for my lower jaw instead of my top jaw?
We understand some people prefer to wear their night guard on their bottom teeth. This is perfectly acceptable. If you have ordered the 1.5mm, 2mm, or 4mm product simply perform the impression on your lower jaw. However, if you have ordered the 3mm product please leave a note under Additional Information stating that you would prefer the guard made for your lower jaw.
- Do you do those oral devices to stop snoring?

- How much does shipping cost?
All postage is done via Australia Post. Tracking is also available - you will receive a tracking number once your order is dispatched from our warehouse in Melbourne.
$6 for regular shipping and $10 for express.
- How long will it take for my impression kit to arrive?
Once you have placed your order, expect your impression kit in 1-4 business days, depending where you are in Australia.
- How long will it take for my finished night guard to arrive?
Once we receive your finished impression, please allow 5-9 business days for delivery of your finished night plate.
- Can I track my order?
Yes, you can. Once your impression kit has been dispatched you will receive a tracking number by email. You will also receive an email when we send the finished guard to you.
On the bottom of the impression box you will see a reply-paid sticker - this will allow for the return of the impression from you to us. If you want to track this package, make sure you record the AP Article ID, this is the tracking number, and can be tracked here.
- What payment options do you have?
You can pay for your order with credit or debit card - Visa, Mastercard; and Paypal. We also offer Afterpay and Zip Money, which allow you to buy now and pay later.
- Can I use American Express?
We don't accept American Express directly, but you can use it through Paypal.
